Etienne Aigner Fall/Winter 2012 Handbags and Jewelry

I've been a fan of Etienne Aigner since my preppy phase in junior high school.  Back then, the signature burgundy leather and horseshoe "A" that distinguished the Hungarian designer's loafers and purses were a style status symbol.  So Everything She Wants was excited to preview Etienne Aigner's collection for Fall/Winter 2012, which fuses modern features with vintage touches that re-ignite the classic brand.

The Mortimer collection.

Named after celebrated New York heiresses, the Fall/Winter 2012 collection includes six families of bags -- Whitney, Hutton, Mortimer, Delino, Beekman and PLGR (Poor Little Rich Girl).  While each bag is distinct, the collections are cohesive and true to the Etienne Aigner aesthetic.

The Whitney collection.

The Whitney collection, which ranges from roomy hobos and totes to smaller cosmetic purses and envelope clutches, is my favorite.  It comes in embossed python leather in tan, brown, green and russet; and drum dyed leather in black, chestnut and signature bordeaux.  Prices for all of the handbags are $178 to $348, and most are priced under $300.

Fifth Avenue collection.

The Fall/Winter 2012 collection also includes stunning jewelry pieces named after New York City streets -- the Mercer, the Hudson, the Fifth Avenue and the Houston collections -- that range from simply chic bangles and chains to chunky rings and bold statement necklaces.  Prices are $35 to $225.
