6 Must-Have Items in My Fashion Week Beauty Survival Kit

Fashion Week was fun.  Sort of.  While I saw several good and a couple great runway shows (Christian Siriano and Monique Lhuillier), I'm not in love with the Lincoln Center locale.  And despite my dogged efforts, I never received the press goodie bag, which is partially why I pay for registration each season (lesson learned; next season I will rely on invitations).

What I do love, however, is all of the new beauty swag I picked up:

Patyka Green Tangerine Hair & Body Wash ($26) from France is made from organic green tangerine oil.  The aromatic, organic shower gel leaves my skin silky smooth and smelling subtly fresh and fruity.

Spanx Tight-End Tights ($28) come to my rescue every Fashion Week.  I don't think there's a better pair of tights on the market.  They come in stylish patterns and colors, and provide tummy, thigh, and rear-end control.

Victoria's Secret Bombshell Eau de Parfum ($45) is a glam blend of purple passion fruit, Shangri-la peony, and vanilla orchid.  I was given a bottle of the new scent at the Victoria's Secret Lounge and can't wait to use it.

Maybelline Stiletto Mascara ($7) kept my lashes voluptuous and helped fill in my too-thinly arched brows.

Votre Vu Magnificent Energizing Creme for the Feet ($29) smells divine and thanks to a combo of the cream and Magnificent Exfoliating Treatment for Feet ($32), my post-Fashion Week feet feel refreshed and renewed.

Lenor Greyl Scalp Revitalizing Essential Oils ($47) is what I plan to use after I wash my hair.  I love that it's made with natural, purifying ingredients including borage oil, increases blood circulation, and prevents scalp deficiencies.

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater Comes to Brooklyn, June 5-8

Attending a performance of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater is always a highlight of my arts and culture calendar. An engagement with this awe-inspiring and genre-bending dance company is even better when they perform close to home at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.                                                                                                                                         Photo: Danica Paulos Ailey’s long-standing relationship with BAM began in 1969 when the trailblazing choreographer established The Ailey School in Brooklyn and presented his company’s...

Memorial Day Summer Swimsuits in the Amazon.com Swim Shop!

Memorial Day weekend is right around the corner.   Do you have your new summer swimsuit yet?  If not, Everything She Wants recommends checking out Amazon.com's  Amazon Swim Shop . Me at the Amazon Swim Shop preview. The online shop is stocked year-round with trendy and timeless swimsuit styles, cover ups and swim accessories from your favorite brands. While I'm usually partial to the figure-flattering tankini, at a press preview for the Amazon Swim Shop, I noticed that the often unforgiving one-piece suit has made a compelling comeback. Thanks to a generous gift card from Amazon I took a chance and ordered a Calvin Klein one-piece in a pretty nude/coral "Sand" color, along with several bohemian tunics. Now here's your turn.    One lucky reader will receive a promo code for $100 to spend at the Amazon Swim Shop (qualifying items must be sold and shipped directly by Amazon and not a third-party seller). Here's how you can win ( you must comp...
