Soak Up the Last Weeks of Summer Sun At The Rockaway Hotel

Besides the outdoor pool, the newly built 84,000 square foot hotel offers around 60 guest rooms, a restaurant, a rooftop bar, and a large event space. And it's a nice addition to the area.

When my husband and I visited the popular pool, we enjoyed yummy sips and bites poolside. Lounging chairs are first come, first serve so the early bird gets the spot of their choice. After chilling at the pool for a bit, we headed to the beach, which is usually low-key on summer weekday mornings. Rockaway Beach has become our go-to local summer getaway. So next time, perhaps we'll extend our stay and book a room and some spa time at the chic, boutique Rockaway Hotel.

As of this weekend, a sign on the sole Herald Square location (34th Street btwn 7th and 8th Ave) says the store will close in "7 Days." Wendy Williams has always been a friend in my head, as the former talk show host was fond of saying about celebrities she liked and admired. That radio show was a source of afternoon delight while working 9 to 5, and I've been a fan of the "Queen of All Media" for a long time.
