4 Easy Ways to Get Whiter Teeth

Your smile is your calling card (just ask Lindsay Lohan), so it’s important that your teeth always look their whitest and brightest.  In the quest for whiter teeth, the options on the market seem limitless.

While some prefer to take a more medical route to whiten their teeth, and consult dental professionals or websites like topdentists.com, others prefer to take a do-it-yourself approach at their local pharmacy.

Here are a few teeth whitening suggestions from Everything She Wants to help you get ready for your close up:

1) Be aware of the foods and drinks that stain your teeth and cause them to yellow. For example, soda, coffee, red wine, blueberries and tobacco products can gradually build up stains and cause your teeth to yellow. Conversely, other foods such as those rich in calcium, Vitamin D and some citrus fruits like strawberries can whiten, strengthen and fortify your teeth's enamel.

2) Use over-the-counter methods to whiten your teeth. The most cost efficient and speediest whitening methods are to use whitening strips, toothpaste or mouthwash.

My picks: Crest 3D White Whitestrips 2 Hour Express ($19.50), which promise whiter teeth in two hours; and Colgate Optic White ($6.98), which has the same whitening ingredient as strips and boasts whiter teeth in one week.

3) Pick up a whitening kit. Most kits include whitening strips or a substance that you place over your teeth for different periods of time, either while you sleep or for 20 or 30 minutes at a time.  Other kits provide you with brushes to run over your freshly brushed teeth. And some kits provide you with a light that you can hold up to your teeth for a period of time to whiten them.

My pick: Go Smile Whitening Light System ($198) promises to whiten your teeth up to eight shades in just 30 minutes.

4)  Consult your dentist for a more permanent teeth whitening solution.

  3. Thanks for these tips. I truly believe that you can change your appearance a great deal with a simple teeth whitening procedure, rather than have a wardrobe makeover. If your teeth are not white enough, you might get extremely conscious and uncomfortable while interacting with people. Let’s look at how teeth whitening can help you.

  4. Different teeth whitening methods give everyone a chance to enjoy bright smiles that would otherwise not be available to them. However, not all treatments are suitable for everyone, so it is important to check with your dentist before deciding which tooth whitening option to go with.

  5. Teeth whitening have become necessary because it is counted in your personal hygiene and contributes a lot in creating an impression. Not only the common people but celebrities are also paying equal attention on the whiteness of their teeth. They are ready to spend hundreds of dollars for getting the desired teeth whiteness. It is best to consult your dentist for more options.

Conway Discount Clothing Chain Closing in New York City

(Tracy E. Hopkins) It's the end of a budget shopping era. Conway discount stores are closing in New York City . As of this weekend, a sign on the sole Herald Square location (34th Street btwn 7th and 8th Ave) says the store will close in "7 Days." Before I relocated to the Big Apple, I was introduced to the discount chain while on a bus trip from Baltimore.  I recall the first time I saw Conway's signature pink bags carried by hurried shoppers in midtown. And Miss Foster, the trip organizer and a bargain hunter from way back, took me to the store for the first time. Conway store in the Fulton Mall./Tracy E. Hopkins When I moved here in 1994, my love affair with Conway continued.  I furnished my first apartment with discount knick-knacks and home goods from the store.  And much to my chagrin, in hindsight, I curated most of my wardrobe for my first full-time job from the long-shuttered 42nd Street and Third Avenue store. One regretful ensemble: Lime green and
