Spring 2013 Shoe Preview from Luichiny and Alejandra G

The right shoe can make or break an outfit.  Here at Everything She Wants , we dress just as much for comfort as we do for style.  But we can still admire a beautiful pump or a wicked wedge, and sartorially speaking these spring shoe trends from Alejandra G  and Luichiny give us something to aspire to. Most styles are under $100 and although we dream of taking our shoe game to new heights, we're still partial to the black studded Luichiny flats in the second photo. ALEJANDRA G  ( www.alejandrag.com ) Los Angeles based designer, Alejandra G, offers a bold and daring shoe collection that challenges conventional boundaries. The unique individualism, embodied by her overall design aesthetic, has captured the attention of celebrity fans such as Raven-Symone, Taryn Manning, Tamera Mowry and Carly Rae  Jepsen.  Owner and designer, Alejandra G was a former producer and later studied in Milan where she eventually mastered the art of shoe design. ...

Spring/Summer 2011 Sandal Trends: On the Wedge

I attended a blogger event to celebrate the launch of Call It Spring's shop-within-a-shop at JC Penney.  In New York City, the Aldo group retailer took over 400 square-feet of the Herald Square Penney's shoe department last fall. This spring, the Call It Spring concept store expands to 100 JCPenney stores and on jcp.com .  An additional 400 stores will be added in fall 2011. But what you really need to know is most of the shoes retail from $39.99 to $59.99 . Curiously enough, there's a stand-alone Call It Spring store in the Manhattan Mall, which also houses JCPenney.  I went to a launch party at that store last fall, and to be honest I wasn't blown away by the quality of the shoes. The shoes I tried on from the new spring line for JCPenney, however, felt more comfortable and looked more polished. Janelle Monae Rocks Saddle Shoes at Grammys, You Can Too

Janelle Monae 's retro style is inspired and inspiring. Individuality is sexy.  The pompadour coiffed Atlanta belle is a petite, androgynous cross between a young Lena Horne and Little Richard (with shades of Dorothy Dandridge and Prince).  During her pumped-up Grammy performance, I took a good gander at Janelle's sock-hop-ready-footwear. Miz Mooz "Hoola" shoe. Seems she has a thing for saddle shoes, which makes me eager to wear the pair I recently picked up from a  Miz Mooz  press preview.  The handmade leather "Hoola" shoe in a spring-ready beige/whiskey color combination is the New York brand's version of a bowling shoe, so Miz Mooz cleverly hosted  its preview  at the new Bowlmor bowling alley in Times Square. Thanks to my new kicks, I'm ready to rock like Janelle and  throw a strike. Unknown photo credit.
