Everything She Wants reported that Conway stores were closing in NYC , and they did. But as one of the cashiers at the downtown Brooklyn outpost informed us last month as we snatched up the remaining sale Conway in downtown Brooklyn re-opens. merchandise, the store would re-open under new management ( Fallas ). While the other Conway stores in Manhattan remain shuttered, this weekend we perused the "new" Fulton Mall store...but what's inside leaves a lot to be desired. Pum-pum shorts, polyester maxi dresses and a sparse assortment of other gaudy clothing and accessories. Every fan of Project Runway knows that Mondo Guerra was robbed of his deserved victory on Season 8 of the fashion competition. And we rejoiced when he won the first season of Project Runway All-Stars . Currently, the uber-talented Mexican-American designer is a mentor on Project Runway: Under the Gunn and to celebrate the launch of his limited-edition shoe collection for Crocs, Mondo hosted a viewing party of the show at the new Crocs store in Manhattan's hectic Herald Square shopping district. Project Runway fan favorite and All-Stars winner, Mondo Guerra. The admittedly moody but lovable Mondo told us being a mentor is harder than being a contestant and he really goes to bat for his designers, whom he affectionately calls "my children." As recently reported here on Everything She Wants , Conway stores are closing in New York City.  We've learned the 70-year-old chain has also closed its stores nationwide. A couple weeks ago, we asked if the last holdout in downtown Brooklyn's Fulton Mall was also down for the count, and many of the employees seemed clueless, despite the fact that the writing was literally on the wall (everything in the store has been on sale since February). We checked out the store last night and there were still plenty of bargains to be found. As of this weekend, a sign on the sole Herald Square location (34th Street btwn 7th and 8th Ave) says the store will close in "7 Days." Before I relocated to the Big Apple, I was introduced to the discount chain while on a bus trip from Baltimore.  I recall the first time I saw Conway's signature pink bags carried by hurried shoppers in midtown. Forget the after-Christmas sales.   H&M is having the sale of the season right now. All sale merchandise is an additional 50 percent off, so they're practically giving clothing and accessories away!  We've visited several H&M stores in New York City and each one has a slightly different selection. You will have to do some picking and rummaging through messy racks and piles, but that's the way Everything She Wants likes to shop. So far, we found the best sale booty at the flagship store on Fifth Avenue and 51st Street , where sale jewelry and accessories were "Buy One, Get One Free."  There we purchased four scarves that were marked down to $5 each and four stud earring sets marked down to only $1 each--all for a whopping $12. Then we visited the H&M in Soho (on Broadway closer to Prince Street), and scooped up a navy pinstripe jacket we've had our eye on since it went on sale around Christmastime for an incredibly low $5 and a little...

Native New Yorker Lyn Devon presented her Spring/Summer 2014 collection during New York Fashion Week. Clean lines, impeccable construction, innovative fabrics and bold color choices define the Parsons graduate's extremely wearable clothing line, and her new collection didn't break tradition.  It's no wonder the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) member was praised by  W Magazine as "the go to designer for Manhattan's best-dressed." Say what you will about perverted New York City mayoral candidate, Anthony Weiner, but his faithful-to-a-fault wife Huma Abedin is one lady we'd love to go shopping with.  Like First Lady Michelle Obama, Huma has a classic, chic style and a flair for bold patterns and bright colors. But why is this lovely lady, who worked closely with Hilary Clinton during her candidacy for President and at the U.S. State Department, still standing by her sexting-crazed man? In an editorial she wrote for Harper's Bazaar , Huma says: " New Yorkers will have to decide for themselves whether to give [Anthony] a second chance. I had to make the same decision for myself, for my son, for our family. And I know in my heart I made the right one ."
