I attended a blogger event to celebrate the launch of Call It Spring's shop-within-a-shop at JC Penney. In New York City, the Aldo group retailer took over 400 square-feet of the Herald Square Penney's shoe department last fall. This spring, the Call It Spring concept store expands to 100 JCPenney stores and on jcp.com . An additional 400 stores will be added in fall 2011. But what you really need to know is most of the shoes retail from $39.99 to $59.99 . Curiously enough, there's a stand-alone Call It Spring store in the Manhattan Mall, which also houses JCPenney. I went to a launch party at that store last fall, and to be honest I wasn't blown away by the quality of the shoes. The shoes I tried on from the new spring line for JCPenney, however, felt more comfortable and looked more polished.
