Fall Fashion Trends and Looks You Already Own

Fall is our favorite fashion season. We love wearing casual wardrobe staples like dark denim, leather boots, vintage-inspired blouses and chunky sweaters paired with wide-legged trouser pants, and of course, lots and lots of stripes.  Plus, pops of color, luxe coats and heeled booties are an easy way to spice up any autumn ensemble. And unlike other seasons, certain fall trends tend to stay en vogue perennially. To assist you with your wardrobe prep, here a few fall looks you may already own (or you can snag on sale): Stripes are always in style.  And the color-blocking trend is still going strong.  This look is from Ann Taylor. A cropped jean jacket is so casually chic. Pair it with a cropped top and copper colored jeans or khakis.  This look is from Raven Jeans. Heeled ankle boots in fun colors will make any outfit pop. These are from Magnanni Shoes. A cape coat is a dramatic piece to incorporate into your  fall wardrobe. ...

4 Fab Fall 2010 Fashion Tips from LOFT

LOFT is new-ish on my shopping radar.  I've become better acquainted with the brand after attending several seasonal previews.   As a result, my statement necklace collection has certainly increased. But gifting and endless glasses of champagne aside, as a shopper in search of timeless wardrobe staples that can easily transition from day to evening, I've become a fan of the chain.   So I asked LOFT Online Senior Stylist Lisa Bradkin for her Fall 2010 Fashion wardrobe tips.   Here are Bradkin's must-have styles: BOLD STRIPES . Stripes are an easy way to give solid colors a kick, but we love them best mixed with other prints and textures—the look is irreverent and fun. A CONVERSATION-STARTING NECKLACE . A big, sparkly statement piece is the easiest way to elevate an outfit of easy basics or tried-and-true favorites. Our most gorgeous Fall pieces feature richly colored faceted stones, rough-cut crystal, chains and heavy cord. GENIUS JEANS . We are doing t...

Ann Taylor's Fall 2010 Preview Sings and So Does V.V. Brown

The Ann Taylor Fall 2010 preview was a surprisingly swanky affair.  The Ace Hotel lobby was abuzz with clinking champagne glasses and chatter from fashion editors, writers, and bloggers. Even fresh-faced actress Rachel Bilson and "Mad Men"redhead Christina Hendricks were in the house. The collection features opulent costume jewelry (rhinestone rules), long leather gloves, and accessories, separates and dresses swathed in bold leopard print. Embellished flats and a peep-toe oxford bootie also make great accents to any career gal's wardrobe. Another highlight of the polished affair was a performance by stunning Brit pop-soul singer V.V. Brown .  Take this from a former music editor and sometime music writer, she's one to watch. V.V's  raspy vocals recall Amy Winehouse and her vibe is little Lauryn Hill.  The girl's style, however, is all V.V. She rocked the Ann Taylor preview crowd in chic black, literally from head to toe. Her album, Travelling Li...
