New Buffalo Exchange Opens in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn!

Shop for spring trends at bargain prices at Buffalo Exchange, the place to go for new and recycled fashion. For many years, Everything She Wants has been buying, selling and trading at BE stores in Manhattan, the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn, and Philadelphia. New Buffalo Exchange in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn. So the fashion gods have blessed me with my very own Buffalo Exchange. Well, sort of.  A new branch opens today at 109 Boerum Place near Smith Street and Atlantic Avenue (718-403-0490), a half block from my humble abode in the Cobble Hill section of Brooklyn . The prime, 2,500-square-feet location previously belonged to the plus-size consignment shop, ReDress.  I miss Deb and the darling gals at ReDress, but I'm thrilled to have a Buffalo nearby.  This means no more lugging my bag of goodies into the city, and I'll get a jump on the long lines to sell and trade.  I'll also get first dibs on the $1 bin at the annual Earth Day sale on Saturday, April 21st.

Spring Fashion Tip: Wear Boots With Spring Dresses and Skirts

After the winter that wasn't, spring is officially here. In New York City, it’s already been unseasonably warm.  So I spent the weekend shopping for cute and colorful spring tops and dresses and packing away my heavy coats and sweaters.  But if you aren’t ready to bare your legs just yet, don’t retire your boots.  A great transitional option for spring is to pair chunky boots with flirty skirts and bright skinny jeans. Ugg Baily Button Boots, available on Very.com. According to the trendsetting Brit e-commerce website, Very.com*, tried-and-true boots by brands like Ugg and Frye are the perfect way to add just the right amount of coverage and stay on trend. Mixing hard and soft looks is huge, both on and off the runway. It’s this season’s answer to pairing a feminine dress with a punk-y biker jacket.  But if the name Ugg conjures images of Paris Hilton and denim minis à la 2001, then think again. These sheepskin boots actually originated back in the 1970s, and became a

Spring Fashion Trend: Green Jeans and Bright Colors from NYDJ

Everything She Wants adores NYDJ (Not Your Daughter's Jeans). Thanks to the smoothing Lift Tuck technology, they flatter the post-Forever 21 figure in all the right places.  And my ego enjoys that I tend to wear a size smaller in NYDJ styles. NYDJ spring styles. For spring/summer 2012, the brand has embraced the hot color trend with jeans in Sage Brush, Coral Reef, Sunflower, Purple Lily, Pomegranate, Persimmon, Sunkiss, Blue Bell, Aquamarine, Fuchsia and Optic Black.  My favorite, however, is the Clover Green pair of jeans I was gifted at NYDJ's spring preview.  They're perfect for St. Patrick's Day or any day, and all my friends will be green with envy when I wear them. Colorful Spring/Summer Style from Porsche Design

Did you know that Porsche, the maker of fine automobiles, also makes fine designer clothing? On trend for spring/summer 2012, the Porsche Design luxury brand's Women's Fashion Collection is full of color -- dominated by raspberry.  The product line has expanded beyond leather jackets and premium jeans, to include silk blouses and scarves. Porsche's innovative RawTec line, however, which was introduced during Fashion Week in Autumn/Winter 2011 is still a top seller.  Thanks to the use of full-grain lambskin leather, with nappa finish on the inside, these leather jackets don't need a lining at all and stay cool enough to wear comfortably during summer months.   It's so fly that the RawTec Blazer was recently awarded the international red dot product design award for 2012. Don't you want one? The Porsche Design luxury brand is available in Porsche stores and select posh retailers.

Spring Jewelry Trend: Sisco Berluti Power Bead Bracelets

Whether you call them worry beads, energy beads or power beads, stretch bracelets made with precious stones and crystals are all the rage for spring. And  Everything She Wants has a jewelry crush on Sisco Berluti 's high-end, boho beaded bracelets. The eclectic pieces are designed by sisters Lisa Sisco and Carolyn Berluti, who began stringing bracelets as a hobby and are drawn to both new and vintage beads from around the world. Initially, they gave sets of 7 bracelets as gifts to their friends and family. But through word of mouth, Sisco Berluti became a hot brand coveted by celebs like Halle Berry , Jessica Alba and Miley Cyrus. Single bracelets start at $88 and are sold online and in fine boutiques across the country. The sisters also contribute proceeds to charities that help causes significant to their family including Half the Sky Foundation, which works to care for orphans in China, and Ovations for the Cure of Ovarian Cancer.

Sunglasses Trend: TC Charton Asian Fit Eyewear

It's hard for every woman to find shades and eyeglasses that perfectly frame your face.  But Asian women often have an even more difficult time finding eyewear that suits them. Photo courtesy of TC Charton "I grew up believing something was wrong with my face because nothing fit," recalls Alexandra Peng, founder of TC Charton Asian Fit Eyewear . "But just like you would never send a petite person to shop at the big and tall store, I realized the glasses were just never made to fit my features." After years of designing shades that she couldn't wear herself, Peng considered the unique concerns Asians have when shopping for eyewear.  Specifically, she says, glasses don't fit because of smaller nose bridges, wider facial structures and higher cheekbones.  When she crafted her designs, Peng considered these factors as well as styles and colors that compliment Asian skin tones. "I want to be able to reach out to as many Asian-Americans as poss

Spring Scents Are in the Air With Bond No. 9

Spring is in the air, so why not welcome the season with a fresh new scent from Bond No. 9 ? I've coveted the New York City-centric fragrance line since I was handed a sample during Fashion Week several years ago. Central Park West/Photo from Bond No. 9 Bond No. 9's newest fragrance, Central Park West, follows in the tradition of the brand's other park-theme perfumes -- Central Park, Gramercy Park, the High Line, Washington Square, Madison Square Park and my favorite -- Bryant Park. The scent was designed to be as grand as the street itself and starts off with a springtime wakeup call: Narcissus mingled with tangy ylang ylang and a pinch of piquant pepper. Then with come-hither notes of white-petaled orris, jasmine and linden surrounded by majestic gardenia. Sustaining and enriching this bouquet is an enduring base of white oak and vetiver, combined with a hint of musk. The fashionable Central Park West bottle comes with a gift of a detachable, double-row bracele

Marni for H&M is Gone Like the Wind!

If you blinked, you missed it.   H&M's collaboration with bold Italian fashion label Marni came and went like a spring breeze. Everything She Wants arrived at the New York City H&M on 18th Street and Fifth Avenue around 11:20 a.m. and a line of about 50 hopefuls were still waiting outside the store. I hung out for a few minutes and to my surprise got in without any hassle. An eager Marni for H&M shopper. That's because, as one of the security guards outside forewarned, "It's over!" After all, doors opened at 8 a.m. and as Racked reported some diehard fashionistas had lined up 24 hours before the designer deals went on sale.  When I entered the store, all of the prime women's accessories and styles were gone, and I was elbowed out of the way before I got a chance to see what was left.  The few male shoppers, however, fared much better since there were lots of men's items left. I snapped the photo to the right of an early bird

Etienne Aigner Fall/Winter 2012 Handbags and Jewelry

I've been a fan of Etienne Aigner since my preppy phase in junior high school.  Back then, the signature burgundy leather and horseshoe "A" that distinguished the Hungarian designer's loafers and purses were a style status symbol.  So Everything She Wants was excited to preview Etienne Aigner's collection for Fall/Winter 2012, which fuses modern features with vintage touches that re-ignite the classic brand. The Beekman collection./Images from Etienne Aigner The Mortimer collection. Named after celebrated New York heiresses, the Fall/Winter 2012 collection includes six families of bags -- Whitney , Hutton , Mortimer , Delino , Beekman and PLGR (Poor Little Rich Girl).  While each bag is distinct, the collections are cohesive and true to the Etienne Aigner aesthetic. The Whitney collection. The Whitney collection , which   ranges from roomy hobos and totes to smaller cosmetic purses and envelope clutches, is my favorite.  It comes in embo
