Recycled Fall Fashion Found at Crossroads Trading Co.

Have you heard of Crossroads Trading Co. ? Everything She Wants was recently introduced to this buy-sell-trade chain by a friend, and it's a refreshing change of pace from our usual thrifty haunts, Buffalo Exchange and Beacon's Closet. The recycled fashion retailer opened its first store in San Francisco on Fillmore Street in 1991.  And today Crossroads has 29 retail locations , with outposts in Los Angeles, Portland, Seattle, Chicago and New York City. We stop by the Manhattan store in the Flatiron District often and there's also a Crossroads in Brooklyn in the uber-hip Williamsburg nabe we're eager to check out. We purchased this new pair of flats from Old Navy with a cute umbrella print for only $8.50! Like Buffalo and Beacon's, the store offers on the spot cash or store credit for your quality, new and gently used clothing, shoes and handbags.  Think fast fashion from LOFT and H&M, and designer wear from Marc Jacobs and Michael Kors.  But unl

Spring Dresses for Every Occasion from Muse Apparel

As winter approaches, the fashion world is focused on all things spring.  And spring dresses for every occasion are one of the highlights of this bright and carefree season. Everything She Wants previewed the spring and resort dresses on parade at Muse Apparel , which can be purchased at Macy's, Lord & Taylor, Belk and Bonton. The dresses range from $118-$180 and feature fun patterns, bold colors, a variety of lengths and contemporary styles. We feel like First Lady Michelle Obama in the " Doily Lace Girly Dress " we picked out. And you'll love wearing one of these fashionable frocks to the office, out for brunch with friends, a cocktail party or a daytime wedding. Photos from Muse Apparel and Everything She Wants

French Fashion Clothier Promod Comes to New York

After months of anticipation, French fashion clothier Promod  is finally open for business about an hour outside of New York City at Palisades Center in West Nyack, New York.  The store, which sells distinctly fashionable European clothing, shoes and accessories for women, has a modern edge similar to Mango and Zara.  But how well will it stack up against H&M, which has flooded the U.S. fast fashion marketplace? At the huge, dimly lit Palisades Center, Promod is located directly across from H&M and it seems to attract a similar trendy clientele.  Promod, however, reminds us more of La Chateau, where we used to shop in the 80s for the latest new wave-inspired styles.  Curiosity is bringing in customers and we overheard a teen enthusiastically ask her Mom what her spending limit was as she pronounced Promod her "new favorite store." Adding to its roster of stores in Paris, Beijing, Madrid and Mikolov (Poland), Promod currently has six stores in

Halloween Essentials Under $15 from H&M!

Although we admire the outlandish peeps who go all out for Halloween (especially the over-the-top creativity we witness in New York City), we never dress up in a full-fledged costume.  Instead, we might dabble in a smokey eye and don a wig, a witch hat or some trendy black ensemble inspired by the macabre holiday.  And that's what makes Halloween fun for adults--you can dress up in ghoulish drag or simply make a playful fashion statement . To help you create a Halloween-inspired look for less that would make Lady Gaga proud, here are a few Halloween essentials from H&M--each for under $15. We love this perfectly Gaga velvet headband adorned with a gold skull, $7.95. Dance to the dead in these rockin' skull leggings, $14.95. This knit beanie is the perfect hipster accessory, $9.95. This skull scarf is an easy way to pay homage to Halloween, $5.95. Get ready for an "Eyes Wide Shut" moment in this ornate mask, $9.95. Images courtesy of H&a

What Causes Adult Acne and How to Treat It?

For those of us who struggled with acne as adolescents, the last thing we want to do is deal with adult acne. Like when we were teens, adult acne can be embarrassing and cause us to feel less confident at work and in social interactions. What causes adult acne? According to WebMD , adult acne is caused by sebum, an oily substance produced by the skin's sebaceous glands. Sebum clogs pores, which attracts bacteria and become inflamed. For some adults, breakouts are a result of hypersensitivity or the overproduction of male hormones known as androgens. An imbalance in both male and female hormones (estrogen) can also cause breakouts. In women, this can happen during pregnancy, perimenopause  and menopause. Besides hormones, some medications and cosmetics also contribute to developing acne. How to treat adult acne? Gentle cleansers are a good option. We apply our favorite cleanser to our Vitagoods Face & Body Cleansing Brush, and that routine has worked wonders f
